Transferring from a CBE school to an ABA school

I'm currently a 1L at a California Committee of Bar Examiners school, but am looking to transfer to Santa Clara.

What does it take to get in as a transfer? Would good law school grades make up for an average LSAT score?

Unless there are exceptions I am unaware of, you cannot do such a transfer. ABA accredited schools require transfers to be coming from other ABA accredited schools, see for Santa Clara: Santa Clara Law: Transfer and Visiting Students.

Based on job placement statistics, Santa Clara is not a good choice even if you are willing to redo your 1L year.
