How important are ECs?

I'm aware that law schools look at GPA + LSAT the most, but I'm not sure how much ECs are emphasized. Obviously, the admissions office wants to know that one hasn't spent their college years locked inside a library, but what kind of ECs are important? Do they mean working in a law firm or a leadership position in an EC? Community service? I'm just wondering what specifically are they looking for in ECs.

What law schools look for in terms of specificity is nothing. It can really be anything, whether it be sports, community service, religious/ethnic organizations, academic/performance/special interest. I was active in some music ECs for most of college with no leadership positions and did just fine. Another student at my school was totally different; he played on the football and wrestling teams, but he also made it into HLS and SLS.
