What does a Communication Engineer do ?

I want to be an Electronic Engineer, but communication appeals me a lot. I want to know what EXACLY a Communication Engineer does ? And what's the starting salary if you know ? Thank you for your help

Hey we are in the same situation. I want to be and electronic engineer but communication appeals me a lot too. I think communication engineering is the one responsible for making new types of cellphones, like the 4G thing, now they have to make it 5G and on and on. It's everything related to communication, radio, signals and blah blah. But in my opinion, go for electronic. From electronic you can go wherever you want to go: hardware, communication, electrical etc
