Filing a complaint

After getting through the school districts office with very minimal movement and response, who should I go to next with a discrimination complaint that involved my child and the school?

I was told that I have two options; the DOE Civil Rights Compliance Office at the STATE level or the DOE Office of Civil Rights at the FEDERAL level. Any pros and cons of one or the other?

When I contacted the office at the state level, they told me that because it involved a student, the complaint should go through them (the states office). Advice?

Is your child on a 504? Have you contacted your state's Department of Education office?

Have you met with all administrators regarding the discrimination?

Can you give more details on the situation?

I doubt a civil rights complaint needs to go through state. I would recommend you post this question on Learning Disabilities (LDs), ADHD and Education Support, The*SAFE*Site - Home.

This is an active forum with lots of knowledgeable people.
