| What do you think of Lehigh?
I was accepted to Lehigh as a transfer student on Saturday and I am deciding between Lehigh and Lafayette. I know that Lehigh is considered a big time party school and I was just wondering what it's like on the weekends? Also any other things you love about it that you like to share? Or little details I wouldn't get anywhere else? Thanks!

Well, I was there on Saturday for the Engineering college's candidates day. The campus seemed very empty, however it was the morning. Either everyone was sleeping in with hangovers from Friday night, or they were all off campus somewhere. :P I'd assume they were mostly just still asleep, as the day went on, there were more people out and about walking and jogging.
When I first visited the campus last year, I wasn't really 100% sure I'd love it, but now that I went again, I felt completely comfortable walking around and talking to people.
About the party scene, it's all up to you. If you want to take part in the parties, you can. If you want to just study or hang out somewhere else with friends, you can. I really feel Lehigh has a little bit of everything to offer.
What are you majoring in?

dude me too! which engineering? I'm doing chemical.
We also went up for the accepted students day, and I found that it was really nice to talk to all the staff members. I met with one of the Deans of Engineering and the head Chemical Engineering Professor. I don't see any other colleges offering you such an up-close and personal touch. We visited Northeastern the next day and we barely met any staff members or many students for that matter.
Lehigh has a very nice program especially in Business and Engineering.

acelin, I'm going for Computer Engineering. They took us in to meet with the robotics professor, and he showed us some cool projects they are working on, which can be seen here: VADER Laboratory :: Research Projects
After that day, I'm feeling more and more comfortable about going there.

This past week was "Greek Week" at Lehigh. It is often described as one of the best weeks to be a student...greek or not. The campus was obviously quiet in the mornings for the obvious reasons.

| The Brown and White: Editorial: The week that was: Quote:
After a week jam packed with concerts and comedy shows, competitions and matches, and what seems like a hundred other events, there's only one thing we can say: what a whirlwind week it was.
Each year it seems as if every organization at Lehigh picks one weekend in April to plan all of its big events and bombard students with as many options during one stretch of seven days as humanly possible. Not that we're complaining. To recap, here are all the things you may have missed if you were living under a rock last week:
During Greek Week, we took part in festivities with Lehigh's fraternities and sororities. Though the week is noticeably Greek-centric, it gave us another opportunity to build the bond between Greeks and non-Greeks...
...Students should be thankful that we were given so many activity options. The week served as a reward for all the hard work we've done over the semester, and let us celebrate before exams begin...

Last week was not only Greek Week, but the University held its second (and probably now-annual) Symposium, which brought in notable guest speakers in different fields and which showcased some of the best undergraduate and graduate research being done at the university.

Halo, Lehigh is not a commuter school. Freshmen are probably required to live on campus.

Momwaitingfornew, students living within 30 miles of campus may apply for exemption from the on-campus requirement.

Lehigh was THE biggest party school in the 70's-80's but the school clamped down, transitioning it to a more average party school today. It's almost entirely focused on fraternities for its social scene. The good, there's a lot of them. The bad, there's a lot of them. Besides the school, there isn't much else. Makes for a tight community with all the good and bad that comes with it. Your life can be as serene or complicated as you want to make it.
