I explained my situation to someome over the phone in the admissions office. She said that they take the GPA that the high school sends. I'm not sure if she completly understood my question. I would try calling the honors college directly. Please post here once you do.

Emory, I cannot believe that. You got robbed.

I have a feeling they just kind of make a GPA up based on the information they are given. You will find out that the people you talk to are fairly incompetent. It really doesn't matter exactly what they weight your GPA as.

chances?

what are my chances? I have a 3.48 UW. i have a 3.78 W (on LSU's scale) I have a 29 ACT. I have a 31 on the English section, a 35 on the Math section, and an 8 out of 12 on the Writing section. I am in the top 25% of my class. I took World Geo Honors, Algebra 2 Honors, English 1 Honors, and Biology 1 Honors in 9th grade. I took Civics/Free Enterprise Honors, Calculus AB AP, English 2 Regular, French 3 Honors, and Chemistry Honors in 10th grade. I took American History Honors, Discrete Math Honors, Physics 1 Honors, and English 3 Honors in 11th grade. I play tennis and violin competitively. I am ranked in the state of Louisiana. I also won the 2010 Louisiana Junior Team Tennis Championships. I was in the 2009-2010 All-State Orchestra. I am also planning to try out for the 2010-2011 All-State Orchestra. I also won the 2010 Yale Science and Engineering Award. I also won at Science Fairs and Mu Alpha Theta Competitions. I am in clubs such as Mu Alpha Theta, Science Club, National Honors Society, Interact Rotary Club, Indian Student Association, Habitat for Humanity, and International Cultural Association. I could not fit any AP classes into my schedule in my junior year so I couldn't take any. And since I am autistic and have ADHD, I couldn't perform to my academic potential for my freshman, sophomore, and junior years. I had broken my arm in the ninth grade,my grades fell and I couldn't take notes and everything just went downhill after that. A symptom of autism is that it's harder to relax and perform to your academic potential. I learned that later on and I changed it. I am also going to be taking AP exams in Calculus BC and Chemistry? What are my chances at the LSU Honors College? Can dealing with my disability be a hook factor?

LSU Honors College admission

I got accepted with an ACT composite of 30 (32 E, 29 M, 31 R, 29 S) all you have to do is mark on your application that you are interested, and as long as you meet their minimums, you should have no issues. Or at least that's what I've thought. I dunno what happened to the guy with a 34...

Do get a scholarship if you are in the Honors College? What are the advantages of being in the Honors College?

Does anyone know if the "Flagship Scholars Award" is automatic for out of state students if you meet the LSU criteria?

Honors college you get priority scheduling, can take honors courses, and generally the class sizes are smaller than their non-honor counterparts. Also have the opportunity to do a thesis and graduate with honors if that's something you desire.
