Merit aid and financial aid at Loyola MD

Am I wrong in thinking merit aid is hard to come by at Loyola? How about regular financial aid?

BY merit aid I mean aid not based on need but rather the students academics or leadership abilities.

merit money not so hard to get

I'm not sure how hard it is to get merit money at Loyola. My daughter was offered $25 k/yr. last year. Her stats were good but not perfect.

It is my understanding that the Merit requirements are pretty clear(SAT, GPA, etc.). If you qualify you will get some Merit Aid. It is used as a recruiting tool at all colleges to lure the best students.
