we are going in June. Would love to hear about your visit. We've only looked at website. College counselor suggested it.

Well, we ended up not going. My son is not interested in visiting UMW now. We are choosing between JMU and Geneseo, need to decide before May 1st. I was more interested in visiting UMW than he was. Oh well, I have heard many nice things about UMW though.

Sorry to hear that. It is a beautiful campus. The only thing keeping my kid from applying are their foreign language requirements (I believe it is 2 years/4 semesters).

That is a lot. I thought most colleges don't require a foreign language. And if they do, would 5 years of HS language satisfy the requirement?

I don't know, I guess you'd have to look into their catalog about what their requirements would be.

I wouldn't get hung up on the language requirement. As a matter of fact I think that it is only one year now and they offer intensive language courses which meet everyday and are worth 6 credits. This may seem like a lot of work but having a language every day IS the best way to learn it. If taking Spanish look for Professor Locke...she may just be the best professor at Mary Washington. Any other questions?
