I had my Marymount audition yesterday.
The theatre presentation really appealed to and impressed me and I liked the feel of the school. At first, the woman auditioning us seemed kind of cold, but she turned out to be really nice--just tough. The audition was less class-like than I thought it would be. Yes, we all watched each other, but we didn't do much else together, and there was no group interview at the end. It was more informal than other auditions, but still sort of the same thing (what're ya gonna do). Anyway, it was interesting to see who was auditioning and what they used and all that--I think a lot of in-state students audition, and maybe that's conducive to people who don't really know the fundamentals of a good musical theatre audition? People did Wicked and Millie and seemed kind of uncomfortable--there was definitely a varied amount of levels of training and all that.
I liked it though
if anyone has any other questions about the audition, PM me.
