MIT Phd admissions

MIT Phd admissions
Hi, my name is Rodrigo and I am a master student in Brazil. My field of study is structural optimization for aerospace applications. After I get my master’s degree, I intend to go to MIT to continue my research. Could you give me some advice?

Is a GPA of 4 a pre-requisite? During my undergraduate I had some bad grades due to some personal problems. But now that I am a master student things changed a lot. I am having very good grades and obtaining very good results for my thesis.

If I make a high quality thesis and publish a good paper do I have chances to be accepted to the MIT Phd program?

For graduate school at MIT, you apply directly to the department you are interested in. In your case, I guess it would be AeroAstro.

Each department as its own requirements and application for graduate admission, and I would advise you to go to the AeroAstro webpage for further information.

Best of luck!
