Does MIT (or other schools) have SAT II preferences?

Hey guys,

I am doing early action for MIT, and I noticed there are only 2 spaces to list SAT II scores (one math, one science). I can either send my SAT II physics score or my SAT II chemistry score, but does MIT have a preference? Does my application look better with a specific subject test?

Thanks,
Kevin

Nope, send whichever is higher.

if you submit your SAT II scores, they will see them all anyway. They are giving you a choice to choose what is more important to you but if you have similar scores in both, it won't matter.

The MIT admission pages say that they have no preference on subject tests taken, as long as there is one math and one science.

However, say for example someone had either taken SAT II chemistry or physics.
Would either person get an advantage? I have been told that submitting physics scores is better... Not sure.

No, send the higher one. If you got equal scores, send chem since it has a harder curve.

One more question:

Which SAT I/ACT scores should I send? Or send both?
I know these scores are not high, but I did not have the resources to go to some prep class to prepare for them... I could have prepped for them myself, but I guess I made a stupid mistake... I hope these scores won't hurt me too much?

SAT I (R/M/W): 640/790/620

ACT + Writing: English (33), Math (34), Reading (33), Science (31), Writing (Not available yet.)

Should I send both scores? Math is higher on the SAT I, but overall is higher on the ACT.
