Letters of recommendation.

Hello, I am a senior and my school has about 4000 kids in it and a graduating class of at least 1100 students. I understand that MIT requires a recommendation from a guidance counselor, but in a school with such a large graduating class it was hard to form any sort of relationship with her. I'm afraid that if I ask her to write me a recommendation its going to be bland, generic, and overall not a good representative of my personality and drive. I would much rather ask an A.P that knows me a little better to write me a recommendation, but I'm not sure if MIT will accept that. I really want to come off as a unique individual rather than just another hard working student. What should i do??

You could always have the guidance counselor write the recommendation, and ask for a supplemental recommendation from the A.P. (I'm assuming that's assistant principal?).

Your assumption is correct, and that's probably the best thing to do. Thanks for a quick reply!
