What a trippy thread to read... it kind of put me off that he kept referring to "humans" as though his DNA designated him to be a different species entirely... Also, I just re-watched X-Men: First Class, so genetic mutations kept popping into my head.

The arrogance I sensed was slightly mind-numbing as well. Did anyone look up antisocial personality disorder and check him for red flags?

At the same time, I was unhappy reading this, and that means I was outside my comfort zone and my views were being challenged. I'll call that a good thing, as now I have new philosophies to consider.

Fascinating, fascinating.

^The notion of trying to reach a higher plane or state of consciousness than the ordinary person is prolific in philosophy and religion. I think Jung called this self-actualization.

And many people associate extreme excellence in a skill that interests them with self-actualization.

Also, Aerex toys with the idea of achieving immortality through science, something which scientists are working towards right now (wit more modest language of course.)

So the ideas in themselves are not that out of the ordinary. Aerex just finds an amusing way to express them.

You can joke about his posts, but diagnosing someone with a psychological disorder should not be done lightly even on an anonymous forum.

Wow this is probably the most interesting thread I have ever read on CC. I wonder if OP got into MIT.

(I doubt it)

Reading my last post, I didn't mean to look like I was taking Aerex's posts quite so seriously.

However, I think there are plenty of arrogant people on college confidential. They are just better at expressing it in more socially acceptable ways. Aerex is harmless.
