My counselor isn't sure what to write on my recommendation!

Yes, she is. I asked her to write me another recommendation since I am on the waiting list. But she today phoned me and told me that she doesn't actually know what to write.

I am not even sure! I do not have any major accomplishments since I applied there. Oh, I got 4th on national English olympiad. I can't think of anything more.

So what are the second recommendations like? Anyone please share your experience. I am also sending another essay that show my continued interest in MIT.

Thanks!

Has she seen this page? If not, it may be helpful for her as she decides what to write.

Well, I guess the question is, why did you ask your counselor for another recommendation? My mom had useful advice when I was getting recommendations, which was, know what you would want/expect people to write about when asking them for recommendations. If you can't think of anything your counselor could write, is there anyone else who could shed new insights? Or is there anything you want to tell MIT about? Maybe that can show your match in a new way?

Anyway, the link molliebatmit posted is really useful. Good luck!

I'm on the waitlist too and my teacher doesn't know what to write. I'm thinking of just telling her to say things that might make me a good fit for MIT.
