I wanted to know what it would take to get into M.I.T.. People mostly keep saying you should have something extra or complete your passions. I wanted to confirm and be confident to know what it would take to get into M.I.T.. So any suggestions?

You can see profiles of people who applied and were accepted here (class of 2013 early action) and here (class of 2012 early action and regular decision).

If you look through these threads, you will see that a variety of people are accepted to MIT each year.

The thing that gets you into any highly competitive university is the match between yourself and the university. There are different students who match well with Harvard and with MIT, that is not to say that either pool of students is "better" or "worse" whatever those labels mean, rather that they are better or worse matched with that particular institution.

You can read more about the match from an MIT perspective at MIT Admissions: The Match Between You And MIT

This, ultimately is what gets you in.
