just confused

does intended major reduce chances of getting into mit....

or does mit look at the application "holistically" without reguard of intended major..

mit also states that it is need - blind amission and need - based fin aid for international students....is this true..!??!

As I know, intended major doesn't affect admissions in anyway. I can't speak about Int'l students, sorry.

Yes, MIT is one of the 7 US institutions that is need blind for admissions and offers full-need for international applicants.

Intended major does NOT affect your chances of getting into MIT.

At MIT they understand that a) if intended major DID reduce your chances, you could just game the system, which isn't what they want, and b) your major is VERY likely to change once you're here.

thanks people...i was scared because i wanted to do computer science engineering as a huge bunch of MIT applicants...
