Does MIT get SAT scores before the collegeboard online release date?

I recently took the October SAT I and had the scores sent to MIT. The official online score release date is Oct 29th but I was wondering if there was any way from my myMIT account to check if they received the scores yet.

SAT Scores: How long 'til they arrive?

SAT scores (and ACT scores) usually take ~3 weeks or so to arrive in our office, provided you've released your scores to MIT in the first place. You can track the receipt of your scores on your MyMIT account, too.

For Early Action, we'll get November test scores in time, but only if you've released them to MIT.

For Regular Action, we'll get January test scores in time, again only as long as you've released them to MIT.

Hope this helps!

-McGreggor (MIT Admissions)

Kind of related question: how can you track your application materials?

Sorry if this is listed on the MIT website, but I could not find it there.

On a similar note, if we are applying for EA, when do we have to send out the SAT scores?

By Nov. 1st? Or do they have to arrive by a certain date?

Thanks

Hello mcgmit. I have very unique educational circumstances spanning my life and greatly affecting my current status. I am planning to mail a letter of explanation to the colleges I am applying to. Can I do this with MIT, or do I have to use the Optional Essay box to explain? Thank you very much!

Oh. Whoops. Why does it take so long for them to get them in anyway?

I think it is because College Board have set days in the month when they mail/send all the score reports in bulk. So if you miss one sending day, you might have to wait another 2 weeks before they send scores out again.

Wow. I need to get that in now.

I mean, I have everything done EXCEPT sending in the official report.

This is confusing to me. So if we see the scores on 10/29 and request they be forwarded to MIT on that day, it'll still take 3 weeks to get to MIT (11/19)? It should still be OK though because Nov scores won't even be ready until 11/26 or so.

I sent MIT scores way back in like.. March? But it doesn't show on their website that I sent them.

I used MIT as one of the free score reports for the October SAT IIs I took. Will they get there in time?

Thank you!

You might need to resend your scores if you sent them before the application was even open. Try e-mailing them and letting them know when you sent them, and ask if they received them. They will definitely receive your SAT IIs in time, though.

I just asked my october and november scores to be sent to MIT w/ my free score reports, meaning that they should be sent in bulk on the oct 29th for oct scores and nov. 24 for november scores on those days.

Both should reach MIT in time for early action

Sorry, I just want to make sure, as a lot of people have asked this...
If I sent my SAT scores like on the 31st through my account, will it still arrive at MIT on time?

I know that MIT still accepts Nov. SAT scores, but I also know you need to write MIT on the SAT test, which is slightly different from my situation because I am just sending them through my account.

For this, when I mailed it, all it said was "we are now processing your order" and I read that it can take 4 weeks to do that (Im confused if this 4 weeks is included in the length of time of 3 weeks that mcgmit mentioned). Does collegeboard later tell you when they have officially sent them? Does it only take 1-2 weeks or actually the 4 weeks that it says it does? Because if its 4 weeks, then I might have a problem with them not arriving on time (4 weeks processing + 3 weeks shipping)..and even though I mailed them before the 1st, they might be postmarked after the 1st because collegeboard might not send them until after the 1st? Sorry, I have a feeling that someone already answered this but im just a little confused, so does anyone have a definite answer

Thanks
