Would talking about FREESTYLE RAPPING be a good idea for the MiT creativity essay?

i havent officially started yet, but im building up ideas in the back of my head.

i enjoy hip hop and its culture and one of the things, maybe, that expresses my creativity is rapping. would this be a good idea at all to write about in the creativity essay for MiT? assuming i write it at the least decent, would this be seen as unique, or trying to hard to be "weird"?

if its ok, how should i approach writing this?

thanks

Go for it.

The essays aren't traps. There aren't certain answers that their looking for. They just want you to answer the questions honestly.

Yes, if that is something you care about that expresses your creativity, that is a fine topic for that essay.

Woah. I didn't think another applicant would bring this up.

I'm applying EA and was deciding whether to incorporate "rhyming" into my creativity essay or my pleasure activity essay. In the end, I went with the pleasure activity.

I think it's a great idea.

Have you thought about YouTubing it? Raps should be performed, not read Not sure how you'd replace the essay, though, or maybe send the performance as an additional material.

I agree with Piper - I think you should talk about its significance, or what you like about it, or how you got into it, or something like this, in one of your essays and then include a link of you freestyle rapping.

That's not weird at all. I know someone who does that and it makes him extremely popular.

For me, it's just something that I've turned out to be pretty decent at and enjoy doing. Sometimes it makes me feel popular but I do it because I find it really enjoyable. Plus I like plenty of rap music. Any Brother Ali, Immortal Technique, Lupe Fiasco fans?
