applying for other schools?

I heard applying for other schools hurts your chances at Mit.I didn't really made too much sense but is this the case I'm willing to remove all other application just for few percent more chance at Mit

argh!
put a "t" next to "I" and change "is" to "if" and presto!, it starts to make sense

What would happen if you only applied to MIT and then turned you down?!! You've got to apply to other schools. If you haven't had an interview yet, I've heard that students are frequently asked if they would apply to MIT early decision if they offered it. I think they want to know MIT is your first choice and you'll go if you get admitted.

@Dex, what you've heard is incorrect. It won't hurt your chances at MIT if you apply to other schools. You can apply to 10 other schools, or 100 other schools, and it still won't hurt your chances at MIT.
