Did you guys do the optional section? I think I managed to tell MIT a lot about my life and there are my teacher recommendations too.

I feel like I should do the optional section, but I don't want to rehash/repeat letters/ responses.

Though I think it is what your content is that ultimately matters. Misspelling a word can be embarrassing

Heh. Last year I started the optional essay at 9:30 PM on the day it was due, and submitted at 11:57. You all are finishing early :-).
