| Welcome New MIT College Rep: mcgmit
Please join me in welcoming our newest College Rep, mcgmit, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology! MIT was one of the first colleges to participate in our CC community, and we are happy to have mcgmit here.
As a reminder, our College Reps are individuals that we have taken reasonable steps to verify as being from the school they represent. (If you find a CC member claiming to be an admissions person at a college and that member isn't flagged as a College Rep, please let us know so that we can verify his/her status.)
As an matter of courtesy to our College Reps (who have real-world jobs and are incredibly busy during the admissions season!), please don't post pleas for help naming the individual (e.g., "mcgmit - Need Answer ASAP!!!" is what NOT to do - ask your question in a new thread with a clear and specific title, and you'll get input from CC members and, perhaps, from the resident College Rep if he/she has something to contribute.)
Say hello if you like, but please don't ask questions in this thread - start a new one with a relevant title.

Thank you mcgmit for giving up your time to help those MIT wannabes. Quick question: d applying ea, everything is submitted, but her account doesn't show the items sent by mail (which should have been delivered Friday the 30th. How long does it usually take for processing to show up on accounts? When do you advise contacting admissions about the missing info?

Omg Mr. McG, I loved The OC and Charlie's Angels! I had no idea you were connected with MIT at all! I guess I should have figured it out cause of how smart everyone is in those shows. Chuck, too!

Thanks, guys and gals! What a welcome!
We've had some significant application changes, and I saw a need for clarification. With score choice, essay length changes, some new application questions, and a whole existential conversation about what it means for a question to be "optional," sometimes it's good to hear from a person on the other side of the fence.
One big thing that I hope gets conveyed is that we are a very transparent office. Our blogs are a great source of information, and it's our preferred means of transmitting this information. However, as process questions pop up, I'll do my best to answer them.
My full name is McGreggor Crowley, and I oversee our selection process. It's a crazy job, and I love it. I went to MIT a long time ago, then was distracted for a while by the medical profession. Now I get to work with a great group of colleagues (Hi, Diane!) and awesome high school kids from around the world.
