Advice and Chances

I am mostly looking for advice and chances of me actually making in into my goal of hopefully getting into MIT. I know its a long shot and I am making sure that I will be going to transfer somewhere just my hope that it will be MIT.

High School: I was bored in High School being that my classes I found too easy and not challenging and ended up just not doing the work. I even went from only having missed one total day of school from k-8th grade to missing a day every 2 weeks or less. I don't remember now what my GPA was in high school but i doubt it could be higher then a 3.0 and more likely was less. Even that withstanding I still did receive an all tournament award for basketball and offensive player of the year. I also received a scholarship award for earned scores in: the top five percent of public school students in their grade level, or the top ten percent of students in their grade level at their public, junior high or comprehensive high school on standardized tests.

It has been almost 10 years since then and I currently am attending a community college. I currently have a 4.0 GPA. I am taking honors classes for almost every science/computer class I take(I am a computer science major). I will end up graduating with almost double the amount of honors credits as is required to graduate from the honors department.

E.C.'s that will be completed by the time I transfer

Excellence in Service Award
Honors In Action Award(2)
Honors Topic Scholar Award
I volunteer at the local Science Center and am currently organizing a group of students to go to local middle/high schools and do a science day on those campuses
I also was a volunteer counselor at the state level learn and serve camp
I also did my own psychology research that I had to get IRB board approved which received an award on campus.
I plan to apply for and hopefully get a research internship this summer.
I also do Tae Kwon Do and have raised 2 belt levels so far(3 months in)
I have not taken any SAT's yet
I will be a big contender for my campuses All Academic First Team this coming fall
I am sure there are others that I am forgetting right now.
I plan to try to transfer Fall 2011. Any advice would be appreciated as well as if people think I even have a shot of making it.

MIT is a long shot for every applicant. You'll never get in if you don't apply. Try to demonstrate your maturity and academic growth; these will be positives.
