So taking AB? Yeah, good luck!
Question guys, shell method...why is the p(x) always = to x?
On arc length and surfaces of revolution, is this formula s = c d integral sq rt 1 + {f'(x)}2 dy only used when you have an X= type function...? Same for surfaces of revolution...

Guidelines:
Integration by parts: dv should be most complicated for integration... u is what's left over
u derivative should be simpler than u, dv is what's left over
int sec^3 x dx
dv = sec^2x
u = sec x
for dv, both can be integrated, but, neither is "simpler" when derivative is taken for u. I'm wondering do both guidelines have to be satisfied when choosing dv and u. Should I just memorize what is suggested to be chosen for dv and u like x^2 ex vs a arctanx?

You'll do fine. Take it one step at a time.

For trig substitution, can it be applied to integrals that can be solved using u substitution, arctan, etc...? like you get int (d theta) sometimes?
