apple students at mcgill?

Okay, so I really need a laptop and I had been convinced for a while that I wanted a macbook. But right now, I'm kind of hesitating (between a macbook and a tablet pc). I hear almost only good things about apple, but I'm worried about file transfers between pc and mac, and if there any programs I can't run that I will need. So to any current or past apple students at McGill: Do you guys have any trouble at all using your mac? Do you think you'd be better off w/ a pc? If you're a former pc user and "made the switch", was it very hard to adjust? Any input anyone wants to give at all is deeply appreciated!

there is no problem whatsoever because now you can run both mac os x (the macbook operating system) and windows xp in the same environment. You just have to switch in between. So, if ever there is a situation where you absolutely must have a pc (which won't be very often), you can just reboot and go into windows.

mcgill?: I know, I realize that, but that would require me actually buying windows for mac, which is pretty expensive (~250?). If I found someone w/ it, could I use theirs? Like can you download it twice? But you are right, essentially.
elmy: I love thinkpads, but they're pretty expensive. And if I just get a regular laptop, it's going to be a macbook. And the thinkpad tablet x41 (i think that's what it's called) is pretty outdated. I think they're supposed to come out w/ a new one in November, but I'm not waiting till then.

um, no, i don't think it is. i mean, yeah, it's the same program in the end, but they're different i believe. this is windows specifically for mac. (i may be wrong, but i don't think so)
