when the rankings are up for the universities (especially in research, academics)
most are based on the grad schools
which doesn't necessarily put it as the best undergrad school to attend
in my opinion,
undergrad shouldn't matter much whether u go to u of t, or mcgill or any other places
cause most of the research and areas that make the school prestigious are based on the graduate level

If you go to the med school forums for either Canada or the U.S., you'll find that the vast majority of people across Canada and the U.S. consider UofT to be the best medical school. McGill USED to be the best.

For law, UofT is actually pretty ahead of the pack right now. It's not even really close.

I agree about UPenn. Penn is much stronger than that guy says. At the undergrad level and most grad level programs, I'd argue UPenn > McGill and UofT.

I only watched one of your youtube videos...but seriously, man. You can't honestly think that using House (a fictional TV doctor) gives your point any positive credibility.

I'm not invested one way or another on this topic (the original topic, or this nouveau, U of T Med > McGill topic), I just think referencing youtube only deteriorates what little ground your point (which was an opinion back by nothing) was standing on.

By the way, in the 2006 Winter Olympics at Turin, Canada won 7 gold medals and Two of them were won by McGill students. (Jennifer Heil and Charline Labonté).

I agree, undergraduate doesn't matter much if you are going to graduate schools. But bachelor's from McGill makes easier to get accepted into elite grad schools right? But attend school with the least debt.

Ocikat...*** is the matter with you? Can you not read "so good". I'm not complaining about anything. And let's not bring my average into this.

Just because I won't readily bow to some arbitrary ranking system, doesn't mean I'm complaining about McGill. McGill's pretty good (dec., a'ight, etc.), it's just not perfect, and I think in all fairness I let people know about the imperfections.

Getting a college education shouldn't be taken lightly, like buying a box cereal. This is a commitment that should get as much consideration as, say, car shopping. Don't you want to know as much about a car as possible before you buy it? I'm just trying to help you kids be more conscientious consumers. If you want to buy a car just because the commercial was nice, even though you never got to test drink, be my guest.

p.s. I read that article about the chick from harvard...I wasn't that impressed. Actually I take it back. I'm impressed that she qualified for such little aid. I don't remember but did she even apply for any aid at all?

I don't disagree about debt being a big deal (if you were even contending that...not that I know what you were actually contending). McGill is cheaper for me to attend than my own state-school (U of I). I didn't choose McGill because of that (I'm fine raking up debt), but it didn't hurt the good feelings.
