Inter-Faculty Transfer

Does anyone have any experience with an inter/intra faculty transfer? I'm currently in engineering and would like to transfer to the faculty of science. Unfortunately, I don't meet their minimum GPA requirement or core science grade requirement.
I know they ask you to add a letter of appeal if you don't meet these requirements, but I would like to know if I have any chance.

This is what they said...

Any inter-faculty transfer applicant who does not meet the minimum transfer criteria must submit a letter of appeal (maximum one page) with the electronic application. Enter the appeal in the comments area of the electronic application outlining the following:

- any reasons which may have contributed to your performance

- steps you have taken or plan to take to improve your academic performance

Could anyone give me some tips on how to present my appeal based on this information?
