On the Keelboat team we have two skippers that are former offshore and one that is former dingy. The skipper that is former dingy is more or less in the middle as far as skill level goes - so I don't know if you claim to be saltier sailors than offshore
Thats strange because when you guys need people to drive boats for offshore or be tactitions the go to the dinghy team, and as for the plebe that quit the dinghy team and is on the keel boat team there is a reason why he isnt dinghy any more.
On the dinghy team there is a much smaller number of skills to deal with - you all have a lot more time to focus on tactics and driving, etc. Our boats are bigger, more complicated, more varied, have spins, and require much more effort on the boat work level. But you do have a point about driving
