When should i send my application to the academy?

I am wanting to know when i should submit the different parts of my application. I know the deadlines but i also have heard that the earlier you send the applications in the better chance you have at getting in.

When should i apply for my congressional nomination and send in my application for the academy? I have the packet from my congressmen and KP and am starting on the essays.

If anybody can give me any tips on the application process they would be greatly appreciated.

NOW is not too early. Send in as soon as you finish your essays, set Labor Day as your absolute deadline. It's easiest if you get the ball rolling early on, especially if you have to follow up on stuff (like teacher recommendations, etc).

My son had his application completed and at the academy by the middle of Septemer of his Senior year. He received his appointment the first week of December of the same year. There is not "early action or rolling" admissions, but, they will let you know if you are accepted early based on the time frame of my son's application. Get busy, and follow up! I believe there is an admissions open house on 15 August, so you may want to check with admissions about perhaps visiting then.
