On-line registration for Parents Weekend 09

Information about Parent's Weekend 09 is not available on the new National Parents Page. You can register on-line for the weekend, as well as pay via paypal. The site is also posted on the Parent's section of the Academy website.

Parents Weekend

Ok, we are registered and paid, have hotel reservations, and are awaiting the recommendation of our DS regarding the GF. Oh, yes we have the airline tickets too. We will:
arrive at Beat Retreat "early and sit up high in hopes there is air moving there",
bring with us a "hand held fan".
practice our "Go Mariners" for the game.

Now I want all the "I wish we had knowns" from last years and previous Parents Weekend attendees.
Yes I embody the Scout Motto and I am a bit OC and controlling but I love and support my DS so help me out here.

Try to find out your PCs Friday schedule, to include building and room numbers. We missed our daughter at our planned meeting point. Then we spend the next class period tracking her down so we could sit in on her class. Of course, if that happens, everyone is extremely helpful.

Wear comfortable shoes.

Know that there will be places where you can stay dry and sit out the football game should the remnants of a hurricane blow through after the first quarter.

Don't buy out the NEX's supply KP gear. Save something for your plebe to buy for easy Christmas presents.

Enjoy!

Bring camera to get a great "Christmas card" picture.

Leave elderly grandparents at home...there is a lot of walking.

When you take your kid off campus...do what they want to do, which from experience is usually eat and sleep!

When sitting in the bleachers for the parade...1 Co. is on the right and 4 Co. is on the left. (I took too many pictures of the wrong company!)

Try not to cry when you pin their wings (or whatever you call them) on.

Spend some time relaxing by the waterfront.

Enjoy every minute!

It's an Eagle, wings may come later for some after they get through the next four years.

Alot of us understood or "assumed" (yeah I know how to spell it) that the PC's would get an overnight liberty. Stuff I am reading here and on the other blog has me confused. Is Saturday's liberty overnight or not? thanks for helping the woefully underinformed.
