Is it just me, or are your dorms really hot right now?

I'm dying from the heat in my room. I walk out to the hallway, and everything is fine. In fact, it's cool right outside my doorway. It's just my ****ing room. I hope it gets cool soon.

S. Quad, but probably the hottest room in S. Quad. Some guy recommended checking the thermostat, but we can't even find it in our room.

AC goes off at most insitutions Oct 1 and heat goes on or at least goes on within a week or so. Unseasonably warm outside temps make the dorm hot......until the weather cools this is it. Are you located near the ground floor near a heat source.....boiler, water heater or pipes for such in your floor?? Ask a maintenance guy.....or find out who had your room last year. It is probably always warm.........don't turn on any auxilliary heat for the winter or you will really be toasted.

I wish we had AC. The dorm rooms here at Michigan aren't air comditioned at all. There is no relief besides going to maybe a lounge or another building.

Heat is up

So you return in Aug....suffer through Sept and Oct....well part of Oct. That is not good. Do you use fans? How are the windows? When I was at boarding school we had no A/C and in Sept it could get miserably hot.....fans were the only relief we had.....June sucked to sometimes.

Yeah, we use fans. The windows are the ones that get pushed vertically. My roommate and I still keep the window open at all times and the fan going. However, the change in temp. is a little bothersome. About two weeks ago, I woke up and found out that one side of my neck was sore. We wondered whether or not I slept on it wrong, but a pharmacist wondered about the window being open (told me to try taking Motrin and said if it doesn't get better to go to my doctor). It ended up hurting for a few days, but it got better.

Cold front is moving in tonite

There is a cold front moving through. You should be almost done with the misery for this season. Sometimes there is a weekend of warm weather near the later part of Oct but the cold is coming. Hang in there! Are all dorms non A/C......do have a better option for next year or is this it???

I believe that's it. I heard something about AC being put into MoJo, but that won't happen until they start renovating it next year. Besides, I wouldn't be able to leave my dorm. I can't beat it's location (close to basically everything)!
