| Tranferring to U of M from VT I'm currently a freshman at Virginia tech and I've always wanted to go to University of Michigan since I was a wee-child, and I'm not happy here in blacksburg(although its not terrible). The short and sweet of it is that I've always seen myself in Ann Arbor.
I applied last year at an incoming freshman and was wait listed, so I plan to apply as a transfer next year. I'm currently a Mathematics major, and i WAS going to change my major to engineering, but now that I've decided to transfer next year, is it worth switching my major? Should I just continue to take all the normal math courses that I'm taking now and don't worry about doing Engineering for now? or does it look better that I'd be transferring from VT's Engineering program.
My projected GPA for the semester is a 3.8 or so. Am I probably a pretty safe bet to get in assuming I write good essays? Like I said before, I've ALWAYS seen myself as a Wolverine, and I've never been able to shake it.
Any Suggestions on how to improve my application? I'm just finishing pledging a fraternity down here that has a good reputation up at U of Mich too, and hopefully those extracurricular activities will support my app? (in HS my biggest weakness was extracurriculars) |
