hey,
I went to the university of michigan summer science academy in the summer of 2008, so last year. If you're interested in going into the medical field, i definitely suggest you apply. I had a lot of fun because of the trips, but the classes were also really cool.. all we did in the chemistry classes were labs, which kept things interesting, and in the anatomy classes we were lectured by a real professor and watched medical students dissect cadavers (real human bodies). Plus we had guest speakers talk about different careers we could go into in the medical field (my roommate actually found her dream job becuase of that)... so i called it my nerd camp, but i still loved it! You also have a lot of time to just hang out and be crazy (we had a lot of dance parties, for example) and you make really good friendships. I'm still in touch with a lot of the people i hung out with there. And your leaders are college students, so you get to talk alot with them about college. And even if you don't learn anything science related, it's a good way to prepare yourself for college, with living in dorms and having community bathrooms.
