We visited Bowdoin, Dartmouth, Middlebury and others last spring break (1st week April)- it snowed 2 inches on the drive from Dartmouth to Middlebury but all melted overnight!
Deferred students enter the regular decision round and will hear a definitive answer the same time as regular decision applicants, which I THINK is April 1 through the portal info (you receive a packet a few days later if accepted). Of course, if you're wait listed, that's not so definitive... but you still find that out at the same time.
Bit of an ignorant question here, and I apologize in advance if this has been asked, and duly addressed, before. I received an email stating that I needed to submit some additional information before any financial aid could be given. I'm RD, and I know that admissions here is thankfully need blind, so I was wondering if this was a good sign (because they wouldn't be bothering with Financial Aid for rejected applicants). Does anyone here know if the financial aid is completely independent, or if this could mean that I'm in and simply need to fix up my FAFSA? Thank you.
Have parents and kids received the yearly letter saying how competitive college admissions is and don't think your kid a failure if they don't get in as there are lots of good choices out there? I hated that letter, made perfect sense, but it just added to the nail biting. I swear I was getting manicures twice a week in March/April 2009.
New Dean this year; probably different approaches to some things, with this letter being one. Public opinion on that letter was mixed, to say the least.
I applied RD and never got any notices asking for financial documents or anything. But this school is a huge reach (a HIGH JUMP) for me so I doubt I even had a chance. Good luck to everyone!!

I agree! It was well written and equally terrifying. It's Ok if your kid (or you - as they sent one to parents AND the students), doesn't' get in. It won't be Middlebury, but it will be somewhere. Mixed reviews is right. I got it, but at that stage of the process it was nerve-racking.
So.. for all those waiting... Best of luck and I hope you will come and share the news!!
Did everyone get an email about a week ago reminding them that the decision would be available online tomorrow and then going on to state that rejected students will only be informed online and not get any further mailings? It just struck me as putting more emphasis on the rejection but maybe I'm being paranoid.
I received the email and so did my other friend from school who applied. I am on the West Coast so I get to hear at 5AM tomorrow instead of 8AM....not like it makes a difference, but for once the time change doesn't jip me.
