Economics?

I'm interested in studying Econ at Midd. However, I looked at their data from last years graduating class. It seems that there were more Econ majors than any other three majors combined. This might be a testament to the strength of their econ department, and could possibly be why so many of the top employers that year were in consulting, finance and banking, but can anyone give me some legitimate information on the subject of Econ majors at midd, why it's so popular, and what the workload is like? Thanks

Agreed, very insightful article. That just makes my decision to apply ED that much more meaningful, if so many students enjoy the rigour and intellectual depth of Economics at Middlebury. Thanks Arcadia!
