| USMA beats USAFA
The Army football team beat Air Force today in C-Springs, for the first time since the 1970s (at USAFA, that is). Way to break that 13-game losing streak against USAFA!

After the victory several plebes managed to take down a goal post from Michie Stadium and carry it to the Supe's house.

Shogun,
My anxiety increased considerably this fall when I saw that Notre Dame almost beat your son’s alma mater, USC. Moreover, the ND quarterback said that he probably would have attended a service academy if he hadn’t played a sport (???) because his dad was a Marine (so USNA probably would have been his first choice if he weren’t NFL bound.) As always, the mids played their hearts out and made Navy families proud!
By the way, Army plays Notre Dame in football next year…

P.S. Hope your daughter is lovin’ USMA as much as my gal is lovin’ USNA!

Championship caliber teams find a way to win those big away games like the one vs Notre Dame. Hopefully 3 in a row for Army means more of the same vs Navy (although I sure would like to see Navy smoke the Irish!) Fight On!
And yes, she can't imagine being anywhere else than West Point! Glad to hear your daughter is happy at the Naval Academy!

| Go Army!
West Point – Three consecutive wins have given the Army football team the respect of its classmates, opponents and now, the Las Vegas bookmakers.
It's not every week the Black Knights enter a game as a favorite. Check that. It's not every year Army is listed as a favorite.
But the surging Black Knights opened as a whopping 6½-point favorite over Arkansas State.
Army hosts the Indians (5-4) at noon Saturday at Michie Stadium.
"That's kind of a respect issue now," Army tight end Jared Ulekowski said. "It feels like everyone is starting to treat us with respect. They know that we can actually start winning. We're building confidence in other people's eyes, which is good."
It's taken a while for the bookies to come around to Army (3-6) – winners of consecutive games over Akron (20-0), Air Force (27-24) and Division I-AA Massachusetts (34-27). The last time the Black Knights were favored – by 3 – was last Oct. 30 at East Carolina, a game which Army lost, 38-28.
The Black Knights hadn't been favored for 29 consecutive games before that, dating back to Sept. 14, 2002, at Rutgers (-4).
Army lost 44-0. The Black Knights have now been favored just six times since the start of 2000.
No betting line was issued for Army's game last week against UMass.
"It's a good feeling, I guess," Army quarterback Zac Dahman said. "But we know we are still going to be undersized for almost every game.
"Technically, we're almost at a disadvantage every game. But we're starting to get the respect we know we deserve."

Momoftwins? How much have you given to your bookie this week? Don't cut into your daughter's boodle fund! That just tickled my funny bone. Sounds like you're researching the odds pretty well! Can usna09mom & I put 100 on Navy? I closed my eyes during Notre Dame and still continue to lick my wounds. They were just having a down day. You know..... resting up.

I sure hope you have more wounds on 12/3.
Let me know if you are going to the game. I'll buy you some chocolate.
