leatherman tool?

During my overnight visit to the Academy my escort told me to bring a leatherman-type tool with me for the summer. Anyone think that'd be a good idea? And anybody have any suggestions as to what kinds the best/most useful?

I highly suggest the Leatherman Wave. It is awesome and has the tools that you need to do about everything and it holds up great. I carried mine throughout my time in Iraq and actually head it attached to my thigh holster so I had it easily accessible all the time. I used it for everything from getting razor wire off of our patrol HMMWVs, to fixing radios, adjusting my rifle, cutting 550 cord, 100mph tape, and on and on and on. It will last you for a while, and bringing a leatherman to USMA for Beast is a great suggestion. I had a regular Gerber when I went in, and it was okay, but the Leatherman Wave is far better and seems to have better durability, but is the right size as well. It's not cheap, but go for what will last cause you'll need it for several things throughout your cadet and Army career.
