CFA Thread / Question

Here's my CFA scores. If you would like, post yours here for all to see.

BB - 75'
PU - 6
Shuttle - 8.9
SU - 57
Pushups - 41
Mile - 6:27

My evaluation of the CFA said "No Risk". Does this mean I passed the test? Do you think I should take it again?

im sure you could improve pushups and shuttle run.. everything elselooks fine...if you are a male. If you are a female, that looks pretty good! I would reccomending trying to improve on PU's and pushups though.

SLS3P4S: Congratulations, "no risk" means you passed.

my overall score was probably similar to yours. I am entering the class of 2010 in 10 days. So, I think you're ok.

They also may not allow a second chance, i know they wouldn't let me.

Pushups!
your situps will be easy to improve, so do those as well (i have been neglecting them and only can do 59, weakest part of my APFT!!)

Sweet. I'm glad, cause I found taking that test was kind of stressful. Especially when all the cadets are like HOPE NOBODY PUKES every 5 seconds. (Lots did, anyway)

Thanks for all of your help.

Hehe, I puked after the run. I wasn't feeling very well before or during the run. Tried to hold it together, couldn't. I think it was because of the expired milk they gave us that morning... most of it was water that came back up though...

I've never puked after exercising before... I guess I was just working hard then.

Or maybe I drank too much water.

Yeah, that morning sucked, except for the statues.

I felt like puking, most kids agreed that breakfast was about the worst that morning.

And 3rd platoon ate in the cold... Arg.

here are my scores, I was NO RISK at USMA with:
Push Ups: 51,
Sit Ups:71,
Pull Ups: 7,
Mile:7:47,
Shuttle: 9.6 ,
BBall: 66

and at NASS I got
Push Ups: 65,
Sit Ups:95(max),
Pull Ups: 7,
Mile:7:05,
Shuttle: 10.1 ,
BBall: 64

did anyone hear of any male passing with a BBall throw 64ft or less, and or passing with a 10.1 shuttle run or worse? I obvisouly did a whole lot better on push ups sit ups and pulls just worried that the 2ft worse on bball and .5 seconds worse on shuttle might hold me back what do yal think?

I'm not quite sure how WP or USNA do things, but those are kind of similar to my USAFA scores. (Athletics was/is not my strong area!) Just keep working at it.

The CFA is the same for all the academies. so I'm good on BBall now I just need to know if I passed the shuttle run first time I got 9.6 and passed. anyone hear of anyone getting around 10.1 and passing?

Me! (My sprint time is not very good.) You can compensate by scoring high on push-ups and sit-ups, since those are fairly easy to improve. (Scoring a max, like you did with sit ups, is an easy way to get a competative score even with other weak areas.) As always, keep working on all areas, though.

I might add the averages were as such:

bball: 66 (not positive, but i belive this is close)
Pull ups: 8
Shuttle run: 10 sec
Sit-ups: 65
Push ups: 45
Mile: 7 minutes

That is about a score of 500. 250 is needed to pass. Quit worrying about the CFA and concentrate on more important matters. It's trivial compared to everything else.

I hate the basketball throw, it's my weakness. here's my SLS and NASS scores.

NASS
Throw: 63ft
Pull ups: 6
Shuttle run: 9.9 sec
Sit-ups: 95
Push ups: 45
Mile: 6:27

SLS
Throw: 62ft
Pull ups: 6
Shuttle run: 9.4 sec
Sit-ups: 90
Push ups: 50
Mile: 7:01

I was mad that my mile went up 34 seconds in a week, but not when I got to run with the 7-8min run group during SLS.

I'm retaking the CFA at the end of the summer, I'm shooting for a 9sec shuttle, max situps, 60 pushups, 10 pullups, 75 basketball throw and a sub-6 mile. Maybe I'm shooting for too good of a score, but I have 2 months to get in better shape, so I should be fine.

My 9.9 shuttlewas passing, so I can only assume 10.1 is still passing. I think the worst is around 12, but idk.
