ROTC scholarships and Re-applying to West Point

I was just informed I got a 4-year Army ROTC scholarship to VMI and Virginia Tech (YAY!). Currently, I am on the NWL for West Point. However, if I accept the scholarship, what happens to it if I re-apply to West Point the following Fall? Can I drop the scholarship to re-apply to West Point?

I think that you can drop the scholarship in order to go to WP as this would just open up another slot for someone else to get a scholarship at the school you decide to go to. I had the same fear that you have now last year. I never even applied for the scholarship because I had already decided at that point that WP was the only place for me. If I were you I would post this question on prospective net and see what you get for a reply.

DrSnipes17~I believe you can you just need an additional rec from your ROTC leader. From what I understand many do just exactly that and others find they like ROTC so much that they decline the offer they had hoped for the year prior. Best of luck!
