USMA vs USNA(Ron Paul)

POST FOR RON PAUL SUPPORTERS ONLY.
If there are any here.
I think it would be awesome to organize a tailgate party at the game.
RP has the most donations from servicemen, more then the GOP candidates combined.

This would only be a great opportunity to spread the word of RP to the cadets and the parents of.

What you think?

I'm a midshipman at the Naval Academy, and I think a Ron Paul tailgate could be a big success. He has a good deal of subtle support here. Even if we could just get a plane with a banner to fly over the stadium, that would be great. Unfortunately the event would probably have to be organized by civilians, because organizing political events are a gray area for cadets and midshipmen, even though it would be OK for us to attend.

Try contacting the local meetup groups around Baltimore, I'm sure they would be very receptive to the idea. There is a military meetup group as well that would probably love the idea.

That's interesting to hear.

What is your source?

Be very careful about giving the impression that the academy supports him. That is a definite taboo.

RP service donations

Luigi59,

The fact that RP has received more military contributions than any other candidate comes from the 3rd Quarter financial reports. It was covered pretty well in the MSM, there are some clips pertaining to that on youtube.

Yep, definitely not something Cadets or Midshipmen can organize.

I'm not disputing that RP has more military contributions than any other candidate.

SteslaS said he had "more than the GOP candidates combined."

Still waiting to see the source for this one.

I don't think so. That is when the study was done.
I'll try to get something for you.

Wow - this is chump change - not impressive at all. It doesn't mean anything. Active duty military have to be careful and follow the UMCJ rules with regards to politics.

when you come back and tell me that Ron Paul is going to win or come in 2nd in NH then I will be impressed.

JustaMom, regardless, this just says how much support he has from military.
Have you heard about him fundraising 4.38mil in 1 day, with the average donation bing 98$.

I dont know, but that is pretty impressive.

Plus, don't you think you should support a candidate based on the issues.

This doesn't show how much support he has from the military ... the amounts in the article are chump change compared to how much each candidate raises and needs to raise - also compared to how many active duty there are in the military.

Don't think this will necessarily translate into military votes. It's easy to get misguided by statistics and draw the wrong conclusions.

I support a candidate on the issues. Don't you think the people of NH and Iowa support candidates based on the issues. I don't know about Iowa but the people in NH have a fabulous opportunity to do just that. That small state is flooded and will be flooded with candidates going door to door explaining their issues. If a candidate can't get their issues across to the fine people of those two states in January it is doubtful they can get their issues across to mainstream America.

But still not more than the other GOP candidates combined, as you stated in post #1.
