| Class of 2012 With appointments starting to roll out, maybe it is time to start a consolidated thread. Post if you have an appointment and whether or not you are likely to accept. Before you know it we will be talking about boots....
Congratulations to all! |

| hersheybear,
I'm curious. Why do you prefer Navy? And if your interest is in becoming a Naval officer, why would you go to WP rather than participate in NROTC on a civilian campus.
Most importantly, congratulations on the first appointment! |

| my career goal is to become a helo pilot. my first choice would be flying seahawks off of carriers, but i'll take any kind of helo i can get. mostly i prefer navy because there are more options: i can service select navy air, marine air, and i'd definitely be happy with SWO. |

| Rah Rah - contact your RC in admissions via
e-mail to confirm that they received your "yes I accept" card, and ask when you will be receiving a package with further instructions. |

| hersheybear04, for what it's worth, something to consider.
IF you want to fly helicopters as you mentioned, our son's mentor at WP was a chopper pilot and he once told me that a person would stand a better chance of flying in the Army versus the Navy or Air Force. Sounds strange I know, but especially if you want to fly helicopters that was his opinion. Food for thought. |

| for those wanting to become a helo pilot like myself, here is some information i acquired via my (Blue / Gold officer, Laison officer, not sure what the army calls them) ... This is for the class of '07, and as i am sure you all know, career field selection is based on a merit in class system...
These are the cadets who chose and were placed to become helo pilots...
" 1st was ranked #4
Last cadet was ranked #596
Graduating class size was 1007 cadets.
90 men, 15 women for a total of 105 slots." |
