Don't forget to have fun. 12 weeks from today will be the morning after R-Day and you'll probably not be having much fun that day.

Please don't go out and memorize what you think will be in the knowledge book. It defeats the purpose of new cadet knowledge during beast and builds animosity between you and your company mates. You will be around those guys for at least a year, so don't do something that will strain your relationship with them from the start. Additionally, memorizing the knowledge during beast helps to pass the time and gets your mind off of everything else going on around you. If you already know the knowledge, you will most likely have more time to contemplate on the negative aspects of beast and will have a more negative experience. And lastly, as a beast 1 platoon sargant, I can vouch for the fact that the chain of command will not make life easeier for anyone who already knows the knowledge before hand. The best thing you all can do is make sure you use these next few weeks to have some fun and to work out.

haha ya i'd agree with not memorizing the entire book, however I memorized a couple things and I really happy during Beast when everyone was struggling through Schofield's and I had already learned it months before. Bottom line: if you have nothing better to do with the little free time you have left before R day, learn the knowledge that's the longest. Your chain of command won't be able to tell unless you make it blatantly obvious.

dont bother memorizing things before BCT, you will be standing with the book to your face for many hours each day.

also, there is no real penalty for not memorizing something other than you might be yelled at a little.
