not necessarily. If you don't make an effort to go in and meet with your advisor, it won't be personal at all. And the seminars are small enough that the advisor can get to know everyone in the group pretty well from seeing them every week. I think it depends on your interest in a particular seminar topic, your level of interest in getting to know other students who would be grouped with you, and how much you do or don't want to seek out one-on-one time with the advisor.
