Flying Up to Boston - Security Level!!!

I believe some of you already flew to MIT; how's the airport security level? Still in the red-color zone? Can you bring your laptop with you to board on your plane, or do you have to put the laptop inside your luggage with the clothes and mail in your luggage? I'm afraid my laptop will be broken if they don't let me bring on the plane with me =(

What other things can I bring with me? iPod? CD Player? Contacts solutions?

I just flew up. I think the security level is orange. You can bring electronics on the plane in carry on bags (I had my laptop, mp3 player, and gameboy in my carry on). But almost any liquid, gel, aerosol, etc is prohibited. I ''think'' you can bring up to 4 oz. of contact solution. I read the list of prohibited items before I flew and I believe that's what it said, but you might want to make sure.

Having said that, you can check most of this online. Some things might vary between airlines as well. Here's one of the sites I read before I flew.

If you are on a domestic flight, you are allowed to bring electronics; flights from England are not allowed to do so.

The current DHS alert status is Orange. Additionally, note:
Quote:
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) ban now includes:

* small doses of liquid medications permitted
* removal of shoes now required
* low blood sugar treatments including glucose gel for diabetics permitted
* clarifications include: aerosols prohibited, solid lipstick and baby food permitted

The shoe thing hella confused me. I was like "TSA DUDE! I don't gotta take them off!" and he was like "You does!" and I was like "NO WAYZ!"

Just be prepared for a TSA agent without a sense of humor to pull you out of line and ask you to turn the shirt inside out...
