any positive/negative experiences with taking 18.06 first term? |

| Definitely take 18.06 first term, then 18.03 the second term. You'll have much more fun that way |

| Collegeguy is so right. If you love yourself, you will not take 18.03 in the fall. |

| DAMMIT! >: I took it in the spring last year
also since you're ahead in math, you might be interested in taking 18.700, the more theoretical version of 18.06 |

| Oh dear no! Loads of people take 18.06 in the fall. I don't know anything about 18.700, but I'd only take classes like that if I were going to be a math major :P |

| I took 18.06 in the fall and i'm taking 18.03 now.
Very good choices.
Strang is the man for 18.06. And besides that, everyone and their mom takes 18.06 in the fall - I had like 10 people I knew in that class.
And 18.03 in the Spring is also awesome - Literally 600/1000 kids in our class are registered for it. |

| 18.03 in the spring might be cool, but I took it in the fall, and it turned out to be MUCH easier than the spring version all my friends are taking now. If you'll have Toomre, I suggest the fall so you don't get lots of busywork... |

| So to summarize,
Consensus:
18.06: Fall
18.03: Spring |

| Somethingnew is right, the Fall class has all of 3 psets instead of 12 incredibly long ones.
However, I made the decision that 18.03 is a very critical class in my education (I'm 6-1), so I thought a better understanding of it was important to me, and honestly I wasn't gonna do half of the work if I was on pass no record.
It's really up to you. |

| Also the advantage of taking it with everybody is that you will likely be able to work with your friends on psets! |
