Biology ASE

The Biology Advanced Standing Exam is scheduled for September 8, the same day as Registration Day -- so do you just register for classes without knowing the results of the ASE? Why is it scheduled so much later than the other ASEs?

In addition, on the Orientation Registration site it says to register for the Swim Test on September 8 during the 9 AM - 10 AM slot if one is interested in exploring FSILG recruitment, but this conflicts with the biology ASE. Does that mean if you are interested in taking the Biology ASE then you can't explore FSILG recruitment?

I took the bio ASE last year and basically what I did was that I registered for 7.012 but attended 7.03 also just in case I passed the test.

As for the swim test, it isn't neccessary that you take it during Orientation. In fact, you can take it any time during your time at MIT so it is possible to take the bio ASE AND explore FSILG recruitment. You just have to take the swim test later.

I was confused about this too - thanks for the info! I think I ended up signing up for the noon-2pm slot for the swim test. When are other times that the swim test is offered?
