It moved along on schedule and might have been a total of 4 hours. My D was not accepted last year. Did not hear until end of March and then invited back to audition for theatre. Only advice is to audition for theatre on the same day you audition for MT. She was accepted to Wilkes University for MT and decided to go with that. Best of luck.

My D is attending Montclair and loving it!

rglick is correct that my memory is a 3 to 4 hour process because of the steps involved.

You are assigned a time. The acting/singing portion is done at the same time with Clay James and the head of the music dept. They asked my D some questions (she said they were very nice), then she waited for her turn in the dance audition (they have a top dance dept. so it was not easy - she is a dancer, so she was impressed and happy with that). They give a music theory test also.

Parents waited in a fairly nice area and some current students came by several times to inquire after us and answer any questions. They were very nice, happy and well-spoken and I was happy with that. I was lucky enough to have connected with some CC parents prior to the audition, and we sat together and had a good old time! That certainly made MY audition process more pleasant last year, so try to do that if you can. Usually, if you post the date your child is auditioning, you will hear from someone who will be there also. That was great at Unifieds also - I had lunch and dinner with some of the CC moms in NYC and that was lovely.

Good luck!!! Any other questions, please feel free to PM me!

kaysmom,

All's well that ends well! That's what they kept telling us last year, wasn't it? Glad to hear that CMU is going so well too!

Is anyone doing April 5 audition

Are there any of you doing the April 5 auditions? How important is the dance component to getting accepted? S is auditioning on that date. I wonder how many others are out there.
