I just received my admission decision, and it said I was accepted for Spring
'09. Do they defer some people to spring admission automatically, or was there a mix up with my application (I applied for fall admissions)?
Hmm---really, ye sheng mei, i'm not too sure. Why don't you contact the admissions office? Or I do remember going onto MHC's website and checking a page that gave detailed info on Spring Admissions. Congrats to you though! I believe they defer some people (very few) to Spring Admissions.
MH receives far more outstanding applicants than there is room. B/c of attrition and students studying abroad, there are a few more spaces (dorm rooms) avaliable spring term, hence, spring admission.
Middlebury offers the same program. They're called Fed Fresh.
ye sheng mei, I don't think they mixed up your application, but they do admit a few(like, 60-65) students for spring entrance. btw, I'm also accepted for spring entrance ....but I have some friends who are also admitted for spring entrance last year and are now at MHC, probably I should ask them about this...or rather how it feels to enter in midyear as freshman...*shrugs*
I think they accept people as spring admits when they think the students are extraordinarily independent and are more likely to utilize the time off. You can always defer to the next fall.
