| van_do, D was taken off the waitlist around May 8 or 9. When she checked her applicant summary in ISIS just recently, she got the same message in the same red bold text: "You're not a current applicant."
It could mean that she's no longer a current applicant as she's already in, so why not call and find out for sure where you are? |

| Thank you MamaBO. I will call the admission office today. I hope they can give me an answer rather than : " I will pass your question to the person in charge and she will get back to you as soon as possible"
Anyway, I'm not keeping any high hope as I logged on to Financial Aid online and there's nothing on it. I can access to no tab at all. I really do love to attend MHC, but I'm an international student, even if I'm admitted, without any aids,I'll be doomed.
I just hope I'll get a defenite answer today. I was so downed yesterday as I told myself I was rejected but somewhere in my mind, I still hoped that I might be wrong. Anyway, I will update |

| Just got off the phone with the MHC admission, I had to call directly to Sarah and got an answer that there hasn't been any change to my status at all. The waitlist is still active and I will still be considered as a waitlisted candidate. I wish that they were planning to take me off the waitlist but just in the process of considering how much aids they could offer LOL( that could explain why I'm not a current applicant and got no tab at all on financial aid online) . Oh well, I'm thinking nonsense again... |

| Will we all get a letter or something eventually stating that there is no longer a need for a waitlist for this years class?
I got accepted to Stephens in MO on a $10K per year scholarship, and hopefully once I get approved for my loan and visa, I can finally forget about this list!
Good luck everyone! xxxxx |

| I dont know if international students like me would get a letter or even an email. To be honest, I really love Mount Holyoke so I didn't care if I had to contact them a million of time to find out what's going on. I did not receive any mail at all from MHC from the beginning. And it got worse when I was placed on the waitlist, no mail or email to notify me at all. After I emailed and called MHC, I was told I wasn't likely to receive the waitlist email in the next few weeks. It's nearly 2 months now and... So I doubt if international students would receive anything. Anybody knows if the waitlist is still active? i told myself to forget about this but I just wish they give me a definite answer. I got offers from quite a few, some gave me full tuition, more than what I've asked and more than their maximum aid that they normally give to international student. Still, I dont know why I'm still waiting for MHC and still like it so much.
good luck to everyone! |

| I'll be withdrawing my place in MHC to attend another school; how do I actually officially withdraw? I dropped an email to both the Admissions office, someone in SFS, and my admissions officer, and haven't received any reply except from the financial aid officer. I do want to make sure that my spot is open to other students on the waitlist, but calling is a bit iffy 'cause of the time difference. |

| I haven't posted here in a few weeks, but I'm interested to see how all the waitlisters are getting on? It was such a tough ride for everyone, but I just want to know if anyone is still interested in MoHo, or if they feel the waitlist decision was all for the best.
Like I said, I'm off to Stephens. My scholarship is now $13k, but I'm probably going to try to transfer to BU after I finish my this year. I'm on FaceBook and alot of these girls seem so *****y! I tried to add as many from my class as possible, and one girl sent back the most arrogant reply ever! She has over 1,000 friends on her FB, would it have killed her to be nice to a future classmate? I'm genuinely considering withdrawing my place altogether, except the program I'm joining actually seems really good, and I know I'll be OK if I keep my head down and stick with people who are smart and friendly.
It's also a pretty conservative school, which bugs the hell out of me, as I'm gay and have been for quite a few years, and I don't plan on amending my lifestyle for anyone. But, in saying that, one gay girl did add me and linked me to some of her friends, so that we can hang out next month, which I thought was incredibly sweet. Two of them even have the same major as me.
I found some stuff online about the college too, but most of the women's colleges get a pretty bad report. I think Wellesley was hit really hard. It's just an online site where students give feedback about the college they're attending. Stephens got a really bad report, especially from non-creative arts majors. I heard alot of the Fashion girls are really *****y, are constantly in designer clothes, think they own the school, and are very stupid. One girl volunteered in admissions, and said they were enrolling girls with an ACT of 13. 13!
So, Nisha already knows, I'm so frazzled. I really wish that I was never waitlisted at MoHo! It just made me try very hard to find any college I could get into. I now wish I tried BU or UCLA, or any other university, instead of a liberal arts school that was probably "too safe" for me. I think that returning to school was a difficult decision to make, but it would have been so much easier if I had mature, smart colleagues like the girls at MoHo. Who knows, the way this year has panned out for me so far, I might even try to get a professors position at MoHo in a few years time!
I wish all of you the very best of luck. May you have all of the love, health, wealth, success and happiness this world can bestow on you.

| Redsexton, I LOVE YOU. I do not want you to attend any other school . I do not know if you applied as a transfer student (which I do not think you did), so why don't you apply again after a year (or one semester). I wish you all the best and I know that you are going to excell wherever you will go, but I pray you will transfer to MHC. |

| Redsexton, I am so sorry to hear this. I wish you luck and all the best. Also, can you please give me the link where you read about Wellesley and the other colleges? |

| Thank you so much for your lovely replies! They mean so much to me. I didn't think I was eligible to transfer to MoHo, so I applied as a freshman. Hopefully, in the next few months I'll be about to transfer!
Diplomat, I'm almost certain that the Wellesley bad rep was posted on another site. I cannot find that exact site, but I remember that there was an article posted in "Rolling Stone" re: Wellesley women.
This is a very honest site, with actual student opinions. MHC did really well on this site, even better than Wellesley. I hope this helps. If you're looking for more student opinions, just type the name of a particular college + student opinions into Google. This site is pretty good too: Wellesley College Social Life: Vault Wellesley College Undergrad Student Surveys
Don't get put off though by a bad review. It would be so easy for any of us to get a disappointing grade on a paper we worked our butts off on, and to run to the nearest computer lab, and pour our hearts out as to how much we hate a particular college, due to having a bad day! |

| Has anyone on the waitlist actually gotten a final letter saying "the waitlist is closed now and you are now officially rejected" or some language like that? When do you know you are definitely not getting in this year? |
