Audition - Theater Department

S has a0pplied to Muhlenberg with interest in theater. We are going to visit the school next week and do an audition. The audition is not required for admission but may affect financial aid. Can anyone share their experience tih an audition at Muhlenberg theater department so S can have some idea what to exzpect.

You might want to check the Musical Theatre forum, under the Muhlenberg thread.

My son went in. He had two prepared monologues and a song. He had a great conversation with the professor (Richter) and a brief tour of the facilities. It was a great experience. Very personal, warm, relaxed, yet professional audition. He really felt like the professor wanted to get to know him and his performance style/ambitions.

Son also (on an earlier visit) spent a day going to classes. He attended a freshman seminar, an acting class, a lighting design class, and a stage management class. Between the two visits, he was completely sold!
