I do not really get where is the ranking for these combined med programs. Also, does these programs have preference for in-state students. If NJ or BU med schools have 30-40 applicants acceptance, are the acceptance more from those state high schools ? I have started to look for the medical schools that I might be interested or reachable for me, and hence the basic questions...

Nobody cares about ranking of these programs, just get into few then decide. It is worthwhile to have a wide range, including lots in your state at state schools.

Anyone else's comments/chance also welcome.

Currently 11th grade in public school in Michigan.
Current GPA 3.9
ACT score 33. Taking ACT again in 4/2010
SAT II : Math IIc 800, Chem 720, Taking SAT II in Biology, US History and Chemistry in 6/2010
AP: Calculus BC 5, Chemistry 5. Taking AP Biology, US history and Statistics in 5/2010.
Taking 3 AP's (English lit., Physics and Psych) in 12 th grade. Also Dual-enrolling in college in math next year.
SAT score of 2090 (in 9th grade). Taking SAT in 6/2010
PSAT score: 219 (will make National Merit Semifinalist) and hopefully Finalist.

EC's:

1st place in stare: Michigan Math League
Honorable mention : US chemistry Olympiad
Junior Varsity in school debate team
Member: National Honor society
Clubs: Math club, Interact club
Youth Commissioner in my City Council for 2 Years
Tutored middle school kids in Chemistry during summer camp
Treasurer of State Cultural club for 3 years
Volunteered and organized several Health fairs for uninsured (with a Physician Association)
Internship at a Diabetic Clinic (summer 2009) : 100 hours
Volunteer Red Cross : about 200 hours
Volunteer at Hospital : will have over 250 hours
Shadowing Cardiologist and Surgeon: over 100 hours
Worked at Urgent Care Center : about 100 hours
Awarded Exemplary Volunteer by my City for 2 years
Have one medical paper in the course of submission
Medical research ; doing in Summer 2010. Over 150 hours
Also plan on doing a 2 week internship in the National Health Service (NHS) in England in Summer 2010

There are other programs - you apply to them in sophpmore year. They are MedStar(t). The combined programs in this thread are only for HS graduates.

Are you talking about Wayne State's program? I'm pretty sure that program is for high school seniors.
